As you readers know, all 10 of you, we are leaving Monday morning for our annual beach trip. It's definitely a highlight each year. If you Southern ladies got your September issue of Southern Living, there's an article on page 36 about our favorite beach in the world. I really want to tell you about it, but then again, I don't want to. Not many people know about it. That's the best thing about it. But here it goes. Grayton Beach, Florida. White sand. Few visitors. Mostly locals. The seafood market just down the road is a daily stop for us. Five minutes from Seaside. Just a short bike ride to the best Gelato place. (Jon's favorite) The Southern Living article says, "Grayton Beach is Old Florida, where locals run the place, artists are enamored, rules are tossed in the ocean, and fun is the top priority. Call it funky, eccentric, laid-back, even somewhat slow...That's why we love it!"

It might not be such a secret now that Southern Living featured it! The business at the crepe place in Austin increased 500% after Bobby Flay did his throwdown there.

I'm getting more excited by the day! When I tell coworkers and friends where we go, they always say "huh? Never heard of it." I hope the Southern Living article doesn't ruin the privacy of it! See you soon!
We just got back from Grayton. We always stay at Grayton Orange on Pine St. It's the best place ever!! Can't go wrong with breakfast at Another Broken Egg. We ride bicycles everywhere. This year we rode to Eden Garden State Park, it's a good place for a picnic but not a lot else to do. It was about a 15 mile round trip from where we were but it is so easy because it's so flat. The beach weathered the storms pretty well. Instead of losing sand, they gained some so you really sink in it when you walk. Have a great time, oh wait, you will!!!!
Just reading the blog, the build-up is so exciting!! I'm excited about the beach now, too!!! I secretly am glad to know about Grayton Orange as we haven't been to the beach in FL since the boys were about 2, 4, and 7!
We've been there a few times! It is gorgeous. by the way, make sure you stop by Goatfeathers and get some oysters for me.
