From Jon... because Angie doesn't feel like blogging right now.

So the Tyner Family blog has been neglected in a bad way this summer. We have had a CRAZY couple of months. More going on than I could even begin to write about.

Some REALLY GREAT NEWS... Jack made a profession of faith last night at church. He is SO EXCITED to be baptized! I'm going to be a basket case when I baptize him. Since before he was even born I've been praying that he would be saved early in life. God has answered that prayer! I couldn't be happier. This has been the greatest desire of my heart.

Other news - Angie's dad is home from Afghanistan!! We went to Atlanta Thursday night and met him at the airport at 5:30 Friday morning (straight off of his 15 hour flight from Dubai). We got to spend the day together Friday, go to a Braves game Friday night, and then see him off on Saturday morning. It was a great time. He's home for good... safely. Another answered prayer. God is good.

Soooooooo much going on at church that I don't even know where to begin. New staff hopefully coming on board soon. Another answered prayer. I'm really excited about the fall.
Sorry this isn't as funny as what Angie writes. I'll encourage her to get back to it so you all can have some laughter back in your lives again!

Blessings,
Jon

Stolen

This is stolen from my sister's blog, but I was going to write the same thing anyway. Too funny not to share. Hannah (my older niece) is doing a Flat Stanley project at school. If you're not familiar with Flat Stanley, he's the main character in the series of kids' books by the same name. He gets flattened when a bulletin board falls on him, so his parents send him on adventures around the world in an envelope because it's cheaper than airfare. Hannah chose to send her Flat Sue to Poppy in Afghanistan. Here's some of Sue's adventures:

Countries who currently have soldiers on Poppy's base (L to R): United States, United Nations (NATO), Afghanistan, Italy, Slovenia, Spain, New Zealand

Two American guards at the gate

Afghan guards at the gate
(They can barely contain their excitement).
