It's good to be loved :)

Jack drew this picture of me while I was gone last weekend. Sweet :)

A Point for Me and a Point for Me

We signed up Jack for One Goal through a neighbor church. Last week, we went and bought him shin guards, cleats, and soccer socks. Needless to say, we've been practicing. Tonight was absolutely beautiful, so we played soccer outside tonight after dinner. We're kicking the ball back and forth and he said, "Five points for me; zero for you." What? I didn't know we were keeping score. Okay. So I kicked the ball right past him. He misses it and starts running for it. While running, he does a little twist and then kicks the ball. Assuming he was going to say, one point for me (Angie), I decided I'd go ahead and claim it. Before I even opened my mouth, he says, "Two points for me!" And so the conversation begins...

Angie: How in the world did you get two points? You missed it.
Jack: Oh that doesn't matter! Did you see that really cool thing I did? That got me two points.
Angie: Do you know how to earn points in soccer?
Jack: By doing really cool things.
Angie: No, you have to kick the ball past me, the goalie. If I miss it, you get a point.
Jack: Hmmm. Well, you're out of your goldie box. Now I get a point.

Ministers' Wives, Nashville, TN

Video from the Beth Moore Ministers' Wives Conference in Nashville (stolen from Travis Cottrell's blog). There are a few pictures of Sarah Shoun and Tonya Williams. But watch very closely at about 3 minutes and 30 seconds for my arm. It's grey. :)

Happy Birthday Lucy!

Lucy turned 9 years old today. Instead of a cake, she had a crescent roll stuffed with cheese and sausage (because that's what we were having). :)

Blogworthy

I was gone all weekend at a Beth Moore Minister's Wife Conference. It was wonderful! So wonderful that I wanted to write all my notes in a blog post and tell everyone everything that I learned. Until... I got home. Of course, I loved on my boys. I asked them all about their weekend. They told me the usual... went to chuck-e-cheese, played wii, blah, blah, blah, worked on a project, blah, blah, blah. Excuse me?? Back up. Worked on a project? What kind of a project??? A little smirk came to both of their faces. Jon says, "A little project in our bedroom." So, Jack leads me into our bedroom, pulls back all the pillows on the bed, and shows me the headboard. I couldn't believe my eyes! Our headboard that has been broken for 7 years now... FIXED! I am still shocked while I am writing this blog! I should go out of town more often. :)

The Gone Tooth

Yesterday morning, Jack woke up discovering his loose tooth was gone. We were afraid that he had swallowed it, but luckily, we found it in his bed. And, it just so happened that the letter of the week for show-and-tell at Mother's Day Out was "T". So we packed up that little pearly tooth in a ziploc and sent it in his backpack. He called all of his grandparents and told them, "I have a gone tooth!" The toothfairy snuck into his room last night, trailing little white pixie-dust footprints, and left $5.00. (Inflation, you know.)

Birthday Wishes

So the countdown begins until Jack's birthday. He's counting in weeks now. Only 5 more. He decided this morning that he'd like to make his birthday list. He drew pictures for the things he wants. So cute, I had to share. :)

A Happy Working Song

We're having a wedding shower here at our house tonight. I've been cleaning all day. I even turned on A Happy Working Song from Enchanted on my ipod hoping some little friendly animals would come through the doors and windows and help me. Didn't happen.

Grandparents are better

Why do kids love their grandparents so much? I really think Jack would, at times, prefer to live with them instead of us. All day long, I hear... "I want to live at PawPaw and Grandmama's house...Grandmama ALWAYS has pears for me." Or... "Can we have a treehouse like Nana and Poppy's? Okay, since we don't have any trees, I'll just go live with them." And... "I just REALLY want to live at the beach house with Big Mama today." Not complaining one bit, just realizing how blessed we are.
